The Secretary, Derbyshire DE4 5LZ 29th July 2011 Dear Secretary, Re: Derbyshire County Seniors v Lincolnshireshire County Seniors on Thursday, 28th July 2011 The players of the Derbyshire team would like to thank everyone at Maywood Golf Club for the warm welcome that we received and for allowing us the use of your course and facilities. Please pass the appreciation from both teams to the Greenkeeper and his staff for managing to prepare the course in what have been extremely difficult conditions due to the lack of rain in recent weeks. Both teams said that the course and in particular the greens were some of the best they have played on this year. All the players, particularly those that had not previously played the course, said how much they enjoyed the challenge and I am pleased to report that Derbyshire won the match against a very strong Lincolnshire team, and everyone enjoyed a superb, sunny and dry day. We would also like to record our sincere thanks to the catering staff along with the bar staff for keeping us particularly well fed and watered throughout the day. The food, hospitality and service were of a high standard and enjoyed by everyone. Also a special thanks to you and your professional, Simon who most kindly allowed me the use of a buggy for the day so I could support my team while I wait to have a new hip replacement.
